To rename a controller in Windows 7 or 8, you can follow these steps:

Go to control panel.

Open 'Devices and Printers'.

Find your controller , right click ~ properties.

Go to tab 'Hardware' , and open properties on HID-compliant...

Go to tab 'Details' and select on 'Property' ~ Hardware Ids.

Remember your value , VID_045E&PID_02A1 ' Every controller has different value. '

Go to start , and open regedit.exe.

Go to :
A. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_045E&PID_02A1
B. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_045E&PID_02A1 -
Change OEM Name to your preferences.

To rename a controller in Windows 10, you can follow these steps:

Click on the Start menu, then click on the gear icon to open the Settings app.

In the Settings app, click on the "Devices" option.

In the left sidebar of the Devices settings, click on "Bluetooth & other devices".

Under the "Mouse, keyboard, & pen" section, you should see your Bluetooth controller listed. If it's not already paired, you may need to pair it first.

Click on the name of your Bluetooth controller to select it.

After selecting the controller, click on the "More options" link that appears below the controller name.

In the additional options menu, click on the "Rename" option.

A text field will appear where you can enter the new name for your Bluetooth controller. Type in the desired new name.

After entering the new name, press the Enter key on your keyboard to apply the changes.

Once you've renamed the controller, you can close the Settings app.
